Charles and Camilla: A South Node Example

Thinking about another famous couple to dissect, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, who have been married for a few years now, popped into mind. Interestingly, I have found something quite significant upon comparing their birth charts: Camilla’s South Node is in Scorpio which is in the same sign as Charles’ Sun.  As I have mentioned before,  South Node contacts with one of the important planets of another person’s birth chart ( the most important are the Sun, Moon, Venus, and Mars) is indicative of a past life “comfortable” karmic connection but also one that does not emotionally fulfill the person with the South Node. Charles has a South Node also in Scorpio so he has a karmic debt contract to Camilla. What they could not complete in a past life, they are working out in this one. You see, they carried on for years and years before they were married and finally they both got what they thought they wanted—each other in marriage. Unfortunately for them as a couple, I can almost guarantee that over time they may have discovered the chemistry they once shared has vanished into thin air. Envision them after the honeymoon looking at each other quizzically thinking, “O.K what now?” Charles, most definitely headed out to the garden to weed. Charles, interestingly, may feel presently like it is Camilla, the woman he thought he could not live without, that is “holding him back”. Perhaps if he was able to be free for a while he would have considered dating and giving a whole new love a chance.

 Whether he loved Diana or not, I estimate that Charles may have covertly developed an acutely sore conscience about his part in contributing to her misery and desperation all those years ago. Charles, who is a true Scorpion, will have a hard time letting go of the past. This is a secret he will probably take to the grave as he is getting too old to be the cause of too much more melodrama. It was far more sexually exciting for Charles and Camilla when their relationship was hidden from the public and Diana. If Camilla had not been so good at manipulating Charles, their relationship would have fizzled out, let alone accumulated in marriage! Camilla can also be very clingy and needy with a Sun, Moon and Venus ALL in Cancer. Charles’ Moon in Aries is impatient and square to her Cancer Moon – pretty much guaranteeing sentimental disaster on the home front. What Camilla may have found but is too proud to admit is that the relationship has actually gotten terribly boring. I mean stale and monotonously so. What sexual tension they used to have before has probably vanished. All is not lost, though, as her Cancer Sun is trine with his Scorpion Sun which predicts an easy alliance– perhaps too easy? Yawn.
